Brand Identity & Website Design Case Study

Oryx Africa

Background

Oryx Africa is a business consultancy company whose expertise cuts across several industries – Engineering Construction and operations, Oil and Gas, Logistics, Food and Beverages, Advertisement, Wholesale distribution, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals and more.

They take pride in delivering quality products and services to its clients. However, it became crucial to enhance the company’s identity, create a consistent flow across board – web and brand assets. They needed a relatable process that builds confidence in their prospects and help the company stand out.

My Role

I took on the responsibility of creating a cohesive brand identity and designing various assets to be utilized across different platforms, including stationery, web, and social media. Additionally, I played a crucial role in building and modifying web pages while supporting the tech team in staging the live site. Collaborating closely with the Oryx Africa team, I effectively executed and implemented briefs, ensuring all required changes and updates were seamlessly integrated.

Brand Identity Design

To begin the project, I conducted an in-depth analysis of Oryx Africa’s values, target audience, and market positioning. This allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of their unique identity and design requirements. With this knowledge in hand, I crafted a brand identity that authentically represented the company’s core values, while also resonating with their target demographic.

I conceptualized and designed a distinctive logo that encapsulated Oryx Africa’s essence, combining elements of professionalism, innovation, and African heritage. This logo served as the foundation for the entire brand identity, which I extended to various collateral materials such as business cards, letterheads, and envelopes. The goal was to create a cohesive visual identity that presented Oryx Africa as a reliable and forward-thinking organization.

Website Design

In addition to the brand identity, I played a vital role in the design and development of Oryx Africa’s website. Collaborating closely with the tech team, I utilized my expertise in web design to create visually engaging and user-friendly interfaces. By incorporating the established brand elements, I ensured a consistent and seamless experience across the entire online platform.

I meticulously built and modified web pages, implementing the desired functionality and adhering to the project’s specific requirements. This involved utilizing my technical skills in HTML, CSS, and other relevant tools to translate the design concepts into a fully functional website. Throughout the process, I worked closely with the Oryx Africa team, actively listening to their feedback and effectively incorporating necessary changes and updates.

The Idea

The Oryx is significant to Oryx Africa brand in unique ways.

An Oryx is the common name given to 3 or 4 different species of large antelopes that live in Africa and the Middle East.

Their horns are very powerful weapons and oryx have been known to kill lions with them, that is why they are sometimes referred to as ‘Sabre Antelopes’.

The visually appealing website, coupled with the seamless user experience, contributed to an enhanced online presence for Oryx Africa.

The new brand identity and website design have helped Oryx Africa establish a stronger and more recognizable brand presence, resulting in increased brand credibility and customer engagement. The positive feedback received from both internal stakeholders and external audiences highlights the success of the project in achieving its objectives.

Overall, my role in creating the brand identity and designing the website for Oryx Africa involved a comprehensive understanding of their unique identity, collaborating closely with the team, and successfully executing the project to deliver outstanding results.
